SharePoint 2010 Infopath Print Button

I received a request to put a print button within a List Item display view so that one could easily print the current item they’re viewing.  After searching for a way to put a print button within the Infopath form itself (and coming up empty), I figured out how to simply add it to the page that displays the form.

The end goal

Once you have your Infopath form put together and published to a List, go to the List page.

1. Click on the “List” tab under List Tools

2. Click on the drop down arrow on the “Modify Form Webparts” button (pictured)

3. Select “(Item) Display Form”

4. This will take you to an edit page screen with your Infopath form set as a webpart

5. Add a “Content Editor Webpart” to the page

6. Edit your new webpart’s source and paste in the following:

2onclick="window.print();return false;" />

Note: <form> tags are not required

This adds a print button to the page that uses the default print call within a browser.  Since we edited the “Display” form, the button will not appear if a user is editing the form or creating a new item.

Of course, the best part of this discovery is the added bonus of being able to add extra code to our Infopath forms, making them a much more versatile tool than they were before.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

The are many WordPress form plugins for creating email contact forms for your blog or website. Contact Form 7 is my favorite form plugin, allowing you to embed email contact forms directly in your WordPress pages or posts.

An embedded form is usually sufficient, but what if you want your email form to appear in a pop-up when your visitor clicks a Contact Us link? In order to create a pop-up you must use two WordPress plugins together: Easy FancyBox and Contact Form 7.

1. First, install the Contact Form 7 and the Easy FancyBox plugins.

2. For simplicity, we’ll use the example email form already created in Contact Form 7. The Contact Form administration page  displays the code you must cut and paste into your WordPress editor to generate the form.

3. Create a new page in WordPress. To include the email form, you have to paste the code contained in brackets from the Contact Form 7 administration page into your page. Ensure you paste the code exactly as it appears.

4. You now have your WordPress form appearing on a page in your site. Now, instead of being embedded in the page, you want it to pop-up and overlay the page when a visitor clicks a link. That’s where the Easy FancyBox plugin comes in. With Easy FancyBox, you can make any page element appear in a pop-up window. Edit your new page, click the HTML tab, and add the following HTML.

5. You now have a link that launches your WordPress form in a pop-up window. Congratulations. You’ll probably want to do some CSS styling of the email form to ensure that the height and width are correct and that error messages are contain within the pop-up, but this should be enough to get you started.

How Google+ Pages for Small Business differ from Profiles (for Individuals)

Pages are extremely similar to profiles, but they have some key differences:

  • Pages can’t add people to circles until the page is added first or mentioned. Learn more.
  • Pages can be made for a variety of different entities whereas profiles can only be made for people.
  • The default privacy setting for elements on your page profile is public.
  • Pages have the +1 button.
  • Pages can’t +1 other pages, nor can they +1 stuff on the Web.
  • Pages can’t play games.
  • Pages don’t have the option to share to ‘Extended circles’.
  • Pages don’t receive notifications via email, text, or in the Google bar.
  • Pages can’t hangout on a mobile device.
